Sav's Crack at a Cure exists to honor the life and legacy of Saville Sullivan Larkin
on her birthday weekend by bringing people together in the fight against brain cancer.
Through events built by this community, we celebrate friendship, foster connection, and
create joyful experiences while raising awareness, inspiring hope, and funding innovative
research through our partnership with the Knox Martin Foundation (KMF).
We believe that when people come together with generosity and a shared
purpose, they can help change the future for someone else's Saville and someone
else's Knox.
Our Why
the legacy of Saville.
In August 2016, Saville Sullivan Larkin, a sophomore at the
University of Alabama, was diagnosed with stage 4 malignant brain cancer.
She was nineteen years old.
Despite the incredible physical tolls she endured, Saville's positivity
never wavered. She fought with immense strength, faith, and dignity, continuing to
live life to its fullest and inspiring others in the process.
What began as friends honoring the life of one extraordinary woman has grown
into a community united by hope, making a real impact in the labs working to change
what a brain cancer diagnosis means.

More Than Statistics
the reason we keep going.
17,000+Lives are lost each year in the United States to malignant
brain tumors.
ThousandsOf families receive a brain tumor diagnosis each year.
CloserEvery year, research brings better treatments within reach.
Funding is what keeps that work moving.
KMF emerged less than four months after Knox's passing, born out of the
resolute desire to transform tragedy into progress. Knox was diagnosed with a GBM at
twenty-one while a thriving junior at UGA. He traversed the globe, pursued his
education, and proudly graduated before passing away at twenty-four. He left behind
a legacy of unwavering determination and a family resolved to act on it.
KMF partners with doctors and researchers at the Duke Brain Tumor Center
to fund innovative research on the most aggressive forms of brain cancer.
Mahjong player or not, join us in Saville's hometown for an afternoon of fun and
conversation as we raise awareness and funding. Together, let's take a crack at a
longer life. A crack at a cure.
